TULACHERMET - is one of the leadng metallurgical Companies in Russia. It is located in the city of Tula, a regional capital about 200 km to the south of Moscow.
Tula is one of the oldest Russian towns, a historical center of metal and armory industries of Russia.

The plant was founded in 1935 when the first blast furnance was brought into operation. The location of the plant had been chosen due to close distance to the source of raw materials - Kursk Magnetic Anomaly one of the biggest deposits of high quality iron ore and also to the main pig iron consumers - foundries, producers of machinery and steel mills in the European part of the USSR.
Tulachermet is specialized in production of high quality pig iron for foundries and steel mills. It is probably the most universal pig iron producer which is able to offer practically all the reuried grades of the material: basic(Steelmaking) pig iron, nodular high purty pig iron and hematite pig iron.
Other products of the company: steel billets, electro-litic chromium, metal powders, steel and iron castings, building materials. Tulachermet is a joint stock company with more than 8000 employees and about 2000 shreholders. The controlling stock of shares belongs to OAO "Koks" - an industrial group which includes several technologically integrated companies, involved in production of high quality coking coal and coal concentrates, production of metallurgical coke and pig iron.
